The Fit Mom’s Guide to Get Back in Shape

Let’s face it! Getting fit can be tough. Everything you ate and did for the past 9 months has changed your body. While you may have been told by a small voice that your lack of activity is adding inches to your body, it’s possible that you have attempted dieting and experimented with useless celebrity workout routines.

Don’t expect to lose any extra pounds easily. It took you nine months to win them. Then, concentrate on gradually getting back on the fitness wheel. You can reconcile your new role as a mother without being disrespectful to the beautiful woman inside who would love to turn heads everywhere she goes.

Get motivated and visualize weight loss

Are you feeling bad about your weight and struggling to figure out how to get started on a weight-loss plan? Maybe you’ve tried dieting before, but it was too hard to stick with… Or maybe you’re just not sure where to start.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Millions of women are in the same boat, struggling with their weight and looking for ways to get healthy. But don’t give up yet – there’s still hope. It’s never too late to get back in shape! One of the best ways to do this is to get motivated and visualize your goals.

Lose the scale

It’s hard to find motivation, particularly with your scale reminding you over and over that before your baby you were slim. Thus, weigh yourself once a week and at the same time. By weighing yourself on the same day of the week and wearing similar clothes on the same scale, you can determine how successful your attempts to lose weight have been so far. Then, you can adapt to what you eat or how you work out.

… And always remember to keep your goals for weight loss achievable – or you’ll completely lose your motivation.

Establish a reward system

While the biggest reward of your upcoming attempts to lose weight is a hot body that other moms will be jealous of, you can keep track of your progress by offering yourself a small reward when you hit a landmark. You can book a manicure/pedicure, get a new outfit, or go out on a movie date.

For every week that you work out consistently, allow yourself to splurge on a small treat, like a new pair of shoes or a trip to the movies. You’ll be surprised how quickly the rewards add up – and before you know it, you’ll be in the best shape of your life.

Get an accountability partner

Making your weight loss more fun is crucial. The last thing you want to do is starve or be exhausted. An accountability partner will have high levels of encouragement. However, remember to choose someone who will pick you up when you’re down and make sure you are on the right track.

However, it’s challenging to find such a person, but there are other ways for you to know people who support you (like looking on the internet to find a fitness partner or fitness community).

Shop new exercise clothes

One of the best motivators for getting back in shape is buying new exercise clothes. When you have cute, new workout gear, you’ll be more likely to hit the gym or go for a run. Plus, you’ll feel better when you’re working out, which will make it more enjoyable… And when you’re enjoying your workout, you’ll be more likely to stick with it.

Researchers explain that the proper workout equipment is expected to get you into the right frame of mind to exercise effectively. It’s all about the symbolic meaning you’re associating with a specific clothing item.

Surround yourself with healthy people

Surrounding yourself with healthy and fitness people is one of the easiest ways to stay inspired. You can start by getting rid of unhealthy food and putting on the counter a fruit bowl. Adjusting your physical environment will also make it easier to re-embrace exercise as it makes it easier for you to stay on track.

Additionally, being around healthy people can make it easier to form new habits. If you see your friends going for a run every morning, you may be more likely to do the same. Of course, it’s also important to have realistic expectations. You don’t need to become a fitness fanatic overnight, but gradually becoming more active will lead to lasting results. So, if you’re looking to get back in shape, start by surrounding yourself with healthy people.
